What is Canvas?

Designed specifically for K-12 teachers and students, Canvas is an easy-to-use, cloud-based learning management system (LMS) that connects all the digital tools and resources teachers use into one simple and secure on-line location.

How do students log on to Canvas?

Using the Canvas link on the BMS webpage, students use their FCPS email and password to log into their Canvas accounts. These are the same credentials as if they are logging onto a computer or Chromebook at school.

Can parents view their child's Canvas course?

Yes. Parents can create an account and become an "Observer" of their child's Canvas course(s). Please click here to see the video on how to create an account and log onto Canvas.

What is the URL for logging onto Canvas

The URL is:   https://fcps.instructure.com/

What is my child cannot see a particular course?

If the course is not appearing in Canvas, the teacher of that course has not published the course for posting on the web.

Can I log into Canvas as a parent?

Yes. You can log into Canvas as an "observer" by using your student's credentials.
